| By Chris Hansen Orf, Get Out | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| March 7, 2008 | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Formed in London in 1975, the band hit its stride after singer Bruce Dickinson replaced original singer Paul Di’Anno for Iron Maiden’s 1982 breakthrough album, “Number of the Beast,” which is considered a classic of the 1980s new wave of British heavy metal. The band has since sold over 100 million albums worldwide — with their latest disc, “A Matter of Life and Death,” debuting at No. 9 on the Billboard album chart upon its release in August 2006. Tickets for the Cricket Wireless Pavilion show, priced from $26-$81, go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Cricket Wireless Pavilion box office, all Tickemaster outlets and online at ticketmaster.com and livenation.com.
