| Country star Brad Paisley to play Cricket Pavilion in June | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| By Chris Hansen Orf, Get Out | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| March 7, 2008 | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Opening the show will be Nashville newcomer Chuck Wicks, who is currently on the charts with the ballad “Stealing Cinderella,” and singer/songwriter Jewel, who had a few alt-rock/folk hits in the ‘90s and is scheduled to release a contemporary country album, “Perfectly Clear,” on Tuesday, June 3. Paisley, who broke through on the country album chart with his debut record “Who Needs Pictures” (which spawned the No. 1 hits “He Didn’t Have To Be” and “We Danced”), is one of the few contemporary male artists in Nashville who writes and sings most of his own material and plays all of his own guitar solos. Considered one of the best guitarists working in country music today, Paisley was featured on the cover of Guitar Player Magazine‘s Dec. 2007 issue. Paisley’s latest disc, “5th Gear” (2007), went to No. 1 on the country chart upon its release in June and the first three singles from the disc, “Ticks,” “Online” and “Letter to Me” have all reached No. 1 on the country singles chart. Tickets for the Cricket Wireless Pavilion show, priced from $30-$59, go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, at the Cricket Wireless Pavilion box office (2121 N. 83rd Ave., Phoenix), all Tickemaster outlets, and online at ticketmaster.com and livenation.com.
