'Daily Show's' Dan Bakkedahl cancels Scottsdale gig

Dan Bakkedahl, a comedian best known as a correspondent on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" until last year, has canceled a March 22 performance at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

No reason was immediately provided by promoters.

Ticket buyers are being contacted by the arts center for refunds. Alternately, ticket holders can get refunds at the point of purchase. For more information, call (480) 994-2787 or visit scottsdaleperformingarts.org.

The canceled show was to be part of a planned trilogy of appearances by comic correspondents on "The Daily Show," the popular news satire program. Rob Riggle performed Jan. 26 at the center, while a film and television writer's strike handicapping "Daily Show" workers; tickets for an April 26 appearance by John Oliver, meanwhile, are still for sale.
