| The Police returning to Valley in May; Costello opens | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| By Chris Hansen Orf, Get Out | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| February 14, 2008 | |||||||||||||||||||||||
The Police (singer/bassist Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland) broke up acrimoniously in 1985 after scoring such post-punk hits as “Roxanne,” “Message in a Bottle,” “Don’t Stand So Close To Me” and “Every Breath You Take,” and for years, through sniping in the press, it looked as though the band would never play the reunion tour that longtime fans clamored for.
Elvis Costello and The Imposters will open the show. Tickets for the show, $40-$225, go on sale 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Cricket Pavilion box office, 2121 N. 83rd Ave., Phoenix, all Ticketmaster outlets and online at livenation.com.
