Moby Dick Rehearsed

Admit it. You’ve never read Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick,” and you’re not likely to any time soon. (Neither are we. We tried.)

Better than Cliff’s Notes, New York’s The Acting Company is touring the country with its production of “Moby Dick Rehearsed,” a crisp and powerful play written by Orson Welles, about a troupe of Shakespearean actors who stage the novel — in all of its power and intensity, only using minimal props and scenery. Catch it (unlike the eponymous whale) Monday night in Queen Creek.

>> “Moby Dick Rehearsed” plays 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center, 22149 E. Ocotillo Road. $25-$30. (480) 987-7469 or qcpac.com
