You can party with the Counting Crows for free, but REO Speedwagon’s gonna cost you.

The Valley has a supersized slate of parties and concerts surrounding the NFL’s biggest game, and there’s something for every budget.

If you’re looking for a free show, the Counting Crows (who hit it big in 1993 with “Mr. Jones”) will play on Feb. 2 at Tempe Town Lake. Gates on the northwestern corner of Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway open at 6 p.m.; the show starts at 6:30 p.m.

If hanging out with the beach bums is a little gauche for your taste, ’80s icon REO Speedwagon appears at a party hosted by John Travolta the same evening. Tickets for the gala “Saturday Night Spectacular” — which also features a performance by Cirque du Soleil and appearances by former NFL MVP Marshall Faulk and 10 of those ubiquitous “Deal or No Deal” briefcase girls — run a cool $1,700. That price includes sushi from Taneko Tavern in Scottsdale, hors d’oeuvres by Fleming’s Steakhouse, and an “ultra-premium” bar featuring Belvedere vodka, Veuve Clicquot champagne and Corona.

That’s right: All the Corona you want, for $1,700.

The party takes place 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Scottsdale’s Galleria Corporate Center, which doesn’t even sound like a sexy place for an A-list party.

Johnny T’s shindig isn’t the only place you’ll pay to play — though you don’t have to break the bank everywhere. Former Suns star Dan Majerle is throwing a Super Bowl End Zone Block Party in downtown Phoenix. The party is “right in the middle of all the action” — a mere 18 miles from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale — and takes place Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets are $20 a pop, or $10 on Thursday with a ticket stub from the Suns game. A DJ will play music, and food and drinks will be available.
