| Dirty Pretty Rockbar is Scottsdale’s flavor of the week | ||||||||||||||||||||||

A week later, stylish people in their 20s and 30s still flood the bar on a Thursday night, and there’s a long line of people waiting to get inside at 11 p.m. Ornate chandeliers hang from the ceiling of the dimly lit space, which is run by the owners of Scottsdale’s Pussycat Lounge. A DJ is spinning hip-hop and rock mash-ups as people mingle on plush sofas or throughout the bar. Although there is a small dance floor, no one is dancing. A trio of guys with collars turned up bob their heads, but that’s as close as it gets. Rob Schuster, who is wearing jeans and a button-down emerald green shirt, says he ran across the club when he was bar-hopping last week. “I thought it was going to be the kind of bar where bands performed because of the name, so I was a little surprised when I came in and saw a DJ,” says Schuster, 25, of Tempe. “I like it, though. It reminds me of a more rockin’ PCL (Pussy Cat Lounge). You can tell they’re owned by the same people.” Remy Radalfo, a buxom blonde dressed in a cleavage-baring satin pink top and capri pants, says she thought it would be the perfect place to debut her new implants. “I got them done last week,” Radalfo, 32, of Scottsdale, says proudly, motioning to her breasts. “This is my first big night out. My friends told me that the Pussy Cat Lounge people were opening a new club, so here we are. I dig it. It’s cool. It has a funky goth feel, and the guys are hot. I’m pretty sure Dirty Pretty Rockbar will be added to our club rotation.” But Lance Wilson doesn’t share Radalfo’s enthusiasm. “I wasn’t impressed at all,” says Wilson, 39, of Gilbert, who didn’t think much of the Scottsdale crowd that filled the bar. “I was expecting a little more of a bar with a rock ’n’ roll feeling to it.” >> Dirty Pretty Rockbar, 7443 E.
